Scotty's Giggles

Scott got so tickled with a silly gasp and we love hearing his belly laugh giggles!

Picnic in the Playroom

PhotobucketHaving a Monday picnic in the playroom for lunch. And getting giggles from the kiddos for making a silly noise. Photobucket

Sunday Drive

PhotobucketSeth enjoyed driving to church early to volunteer. So on the ride home, down our old road, I snapped a picture of "he looks cute in that red car," which is what Emery says every time Seth drives the Healey.

Saturday Downtown

We went downtown to the Children's Reading Festival and the International Biscuit Festival. We picnicked at the reading festival. It was hot, as evidenced by Scott's cheeks, but we had a great family day outing, and mainly enjoyed the delicious biscuits! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketWe did meet up with Tim, Polly, Jo, and Camilla, which made the day more fun! PhotobucketEmery and Camilla took over the stroller. Boat Friday

PhotobucketStaci, me, Brooke, Emily, and Val, and then Hunter, Ben, Seth, and DavidPhotobucketWe jumped at the chance to enjoy a Friday night boat ride with friends and relaxing time on the lake. We loved being with friends, chatting, and then grabbing some Mexican for dinner. A fun date night with my hubby but with friends!

Friday Zoo

PhotobucketEmery, Liam, Blair, and Hadley watching the ottersPhotobucketBrooke and Emily looking like twins, and Emery and Blair feeding or playing with ScottPhotobucketIt was a hot day at the zoo! Fun to convene with Brooke toting Blair and Staci's Hadley along and Emily with Liam and Cates. It was toasty but the kiddos really enjoyed getting misted throughout the trails to cool them off. Such a smart idea and almost more popular than the animals. At storytelling we heard a Llama, Llama book and got to pet a chubby guinea pig. It was fun lunching and walking around the zoo with friends!

Thursday Sprinkle

Photobucket Photobucket  Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketWe had a lot of fun Thursday night breaking out our wiggly sprinkler for the kids. It was very cold water but they really loved it. And we enjoyed witnessing Emery's sheer joy and Scotty's inquisitive exploration for another fun family night!

Last day of first year of Preschool

Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketEmery being silly with Mrs. Carrie and ready for a nap with Mrs. Lori.PhotobucketWe are so thankful for an awesome first year of preschool. We have loved seeing all of the art projects, how Emery has made friends, how much two teachers can love and impact little ones, and how much Emery has loved going to school. Emery has talked about her two wonderful teachers a lot, and we hear or piece together lots of stories and events from school. One day Emery was trying to tell me about the "circle things" they played with in the gym. I later found out she meant hula hoops. Or when she tells about someone getting in trouble or who brought what with them to school. And the most frequent story is Emery recounting boo boos. Emery was excited about her pink heart balloon she got on the last day along with some bubbles and art supplies. Balloons and bubbles mean a lot to our sweet girl. And this first year of preschool has meant a lot to us. She has really grown up and changed from last fall and we are proud of our big girl!Photobucket

Family Stroll

Photobucket PhotobucketLoved taking a wednesday night stroll down the road. We enjoyed saying hello to Harmony, even though we forgot her carrot treat. Loved getting some fresh air on the nice evening with our little family.

Mooyah

Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketWe went to dinner Tuesday night for a night out of the kitchen and enjoyed running into John, Beth, and Davis! It was fun to eat outside, introduce Scott to a hamburger (he was a big fan!), and indulge in a free milkshake! Emery especially loved the oreo milkshake treat! She had a very creative outfit on that evening, including socks with sandals and reminded me of a ninety year old Floridian woman. Still cute though!

Random happenings

PhotobucketOn Sunday at church, Seth put Scott in a crib full of baby bottles that is raising money for Hope Resource. He was not phased but pretty cute. PhotobucketEmery before school this week, letting me put her hair in pigtails, and then after school sporting her backpack for last time this school year. Photobucket PhotobucketScotty in his usual post nap position and then below, trying on a borrowed bathing suit from Liam, and looking excited about summer swimming fun!Photobucket

Mother's Day

PhotobucketRare family of four photos and of Emery in a dress my mom made for me (hence the wrong initials for Emery)Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketWe had a very nice rainy Mother's Day! After church and dedicating Scotty, we simply came home for lunch in before nap times. We snuck in some pictures of kids with Mimi and Grammie and a couple family pictures. Both grandmothers have their hands full these days so for that and more we are so thankful for both of them. We are thankful for the moms that did and still do so much by giving to and caring for their children so well. They have taught us a lot about parenting and are thankful we can turn to them for all the new milestones. They really are wonderful moms, grandmothers, and encouragers. And pretty sure that Emery and Scott love them a whole, whole lot too. We love you both! (in your coordinating animal prints too)

Scotty's Dedication

On Mother's Day Sunday, we joined four other families, two of which are good friends, and dedicated Scott to the Lord. We acknowledged that Scott is the Lord's and we want to raise him under God's laws, in His house, and to usher and love him to seek a life that lives faithfully for Him. It is always special to dedicate raising our child with the Lord, since we know we cannot do it apart from God. But also special to have a community of family, friends, and a church family also vowing to profess the same things in the ways they can and will know how, and sometimes better than we can do ourselves. We love the life God created in Scott and we know he is already a very special boy. We love Scott so much but pray he knows his Heavenly Father's love more intimately than ours and that he will be a loyal follower of Jesus that surrenders his life to God. We are very thankful already for the God given gift we have in our son. And the amazing gift we have in God's Son Jesus. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
